The film follows Kenzaburo, a grieving widower from Japan who travels to England’s Lake District to fulfil his late wife Akiko’s

final wish of having her ashes scattered at a place she loved. Accompanied by his estranged son Toshi, the journey becomes

an emotional confrontation with unresolved resentment, cultural distance and buried affection. At the Rome Film Festival, the film won the BNL BNP Paribas Best First Film Award, marking a celebrated debut for director Patrick Dickinson.​
