With our 57th Season suspended the  Committee

is making weekly recommendations of films to

watch that were screened during the last 20

years which were extremely well received by members and guests.

This week's recommendation

A Hijacking

Denmark 2012, 101 mins.

The film was the 710th film screened by RFS on 17th September 2013. It was one of the two
equal top ranked films of Season 51 with an approval mark of 97% from those attending.

The cargo ship MV Rozen is heading for harbour when it is hijacked by Somali pirates in the Indian Ocean. Amongst the men on board are the ships cook Mikkel and the engineer Jan, who along with the rest of the seamen are taken hostage in a cynical game of life and death. With the demand for a ransom of millions of dollars a psychological drama unfolds between the CEO of the shipping company and the Somali pirates.
